5,000 cops deployed in Quetta
QUETTA, Oct 8 (APP): Around 5,000 police personnel have been deployed in the provincial capital to maintain security during the Ashura days of Moharram-ul-Haram while 35 new CCTV vigilance cameras have also been installed on the routes of Moharram processions. Addressing a news conference, here on Saturday, Deputy Inspector General Police, Quetta Range, Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that tight security arrangements have been made to maintain peace and order during Ashura days of Moharram-ul-Haram. "Around 5,000 police personnel have been deployed on the routes of Moharram processions, entry and exit points and in all important places of the provincial capital," he said. "Thirty-five new CCTV vigilance cameras have also been installed on the routes of Moharram processions in Quetta city." He said that 4,200 police personnel would provide security to processions and Imambargahs on 7th of Moharram-ul-Haram while over 5,000 policemen would perform security duty during Ashura days. "Around 70 to 100 religious gatherings are held at about 56 Imambargahs of Quetta during Moharram-ul-Haram days," he said, adding that 2,500 police personnel would perform duty in and around Imambargahs. In reply to a question, he said that effort afoot to arrest the elements involved in Kirani road bus firing incident.APP
