QUETTA Oct 15 (PPI): Poverty is biggest of all injustices and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) needs to be provided more resources for deserving people of Balochistan.
This was stated by Balochistan governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai while addressing a conference at Governor House here Saturday.
Minister of State and Chairperson BISP MNA Marvi Memon presented BISP Report for 2014-16 to the governor on the occasion.
Appreciating enlistment of children at the schools by BISP Governor said it was brightening future of coming generation by providing them education. He said BISP supports minimizing poverty, end of huger, provision of quality education and sustainable development of gender development.
Chairperson BISP Marvi Memon said that owing to comprehensive strategies of the government situation in Balochistan has improved. She said due to farsightedness of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif all political stake holders are on board and Balochistan was heading to progress and prosperity. She presented a overview of two years successes of BISP. She said 240428 families in Balochistan were receiving stipends of BSIP on quarterly basis. Waseela Taleem (WeT) was successfully running in Loralai, Musakhel, Noshki, Jhal Magsi, Gwadar and Awaran under that 26405 children have been enlisted at the schools. To update national social and economic registry new poverty survey’s preliminary initiative has been taken. This survey would be conducted at Killa Saifullah, Kachhi and Nasirabad which would be completed by March 2017. She said under this survey no area would be left. BISP survey teams would reach every nook and corner of the country.
She added that BISP believes in proper care and effective service of its clients. BISP has launched biometric certification system for ensuring transparency in the payment system. BISP board has accorded approval of new system which would be started from payment of installment in March 2017 and it would be imposed on the country by December 2017. She said BISP not only relieves deserving women of poverty but provides them way of life through dignity and empowering them.
On the occasion governor distributed certificates among women for their bravery against poverty and struggle.
