88 cops deployed along Balochistan border

Larkana, Nov 18 (PPI): As many as 688 policemen have been deployed at 63 police check posts established along Sindh-Balochistan border after the Shah Noorani bomb blast and CCTV cameras have also been installed at all the shrines of Larkana division.

This was revealed by Abdullah Shaikh, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Larkana Range, here on Friday, while talking to media.

He said police has been kept on high alert in the entire range after the similarity surfaced between the blasts of Shikarpur & Shah Noorani.

DIGP said operation will also be intensified against the banned outfits' network and their activists in areas of Sultan Kot, Garhi Yasin and Jacobabad. He said that all five SSPs of Larkana division have been directed to ensure safety & provision of foolproof security at these Dargahs adding that they have further been directed to take away bag/s or other suspicious things from the visitors and parking should also be made away from the shrines.

DIG said that it has become a challenge for them after the Shah Noorani blast adding famous Mazars have been provided more police force and patrolling has also been increased for those mausoleums which are located in far flung & remote areas.

DIG said that main accused in Shikarpur & Jacobabad incidents is Hafeezullah Brohi adding he has now fled to Afghanistan via Balochistan where he is working with Tahreek-e-Taliban. DIGP said that Hafeezullah Brohi & his network was working in Larkana division which was basically involved in terrorist acts and has been broken.

He said that they are suspected that Brohi is sending people here after training them who stay in Balochistan's Khuzdar & Wudh areas where their facilitators are available.

These terrorists, he added, reach Shahdadkot via Jafferabad, Jacobabad, Osta Muhammad & Shikarpur.

He said recently police & Rangers arrested an activist of banned outfit Abdul Rahman from Shahdadkot, recovered hate literature from his possession and obtained important information adding case was registered against him & he was challaned in the relevant court.

DIGP Abdullah Shaikh said after Abdul Rahman's arrest they fear that terrorist acts may occur in Kambar-Shahdadkot; therefore, they have started focusing these areas where operation will be carried out.

He said extraordinary security arrangements will be made this time in Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Kambar-Shahdadkot on Chehlum.
