PML-N delegation meets Vice-Minister

BEIJING, Sept 28 (APP): The high-level delegation of Pakistan Muslim League (N) led by Zafar Iqbal Jhagra called on the Chinese Vice Minister Ai Ping of International Department of the Chinese Communist Party Friday.

The Vice Minister hosted a lunch in honour of the delegation.He expressed sympathy and condolence on the loss in the recent earthquake in Balochistan. He reiterated China's support for Pakistan's sovereignty, stability and development. He underscored the commitment of the Chinese leadership for developing relations with Pakistan in all spheres, particularly through enhanced economic cooperation and promoting people to people contacts. He said that Chinese Communist Party's efforts to develop relations with PML-N is part of its policy to develop greater linkages at the people to people level with Pakistan.

Zafar Iqbal Jhagra briefed the Chinese Vice Minister on priorities of the PML-N government for the country's development. He said that developing relations with China is a cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy. The PML-N government is committed to enhancing economic relations with China particularly through the development of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor project. He said that Pakistan-China Economic Corridor would not only add new dimension to Pak-China relations but will also provide a major boost to the development of the whole region.

Ai Ping also briefed the delegation on the work of the Chinese Communist Party particularly for urbanization, rural development and provision of social services.
Jhagra appreciated the development of various sectors of Chinese economy which the delegation observed during its visit. He referred to the delegation's visit to Shanghai, the port city of Ningbo, Yunnan Province and the rural areas in the outskirts of Beijing. He said that Pakistan would like to benefit from the lessons learned by China in alleviating poverty and developing its infrastructure.

The delegation also took part in the International Day of Peace and China South Asia Peaceful Development Forum and Pak-China-Afghanistan trilateral dialogue held in Kunming last week. The delegation includes PML-N General Secretary, Sindh, Saleem Zia, Senior Vice President, Brig ® Javid Hasan, MNA, Zahra Wadoud Fatemi, MNA Nahal Hashmi, Dr Nelson Azeem, MNA, Dr. Darshin, senior party leader, Siddique ul Farooq, Senator Nuzhat Amir, MNA Shaista Pervaiz Malik, SyeedaNighat Ali and Sheikh Arslan.
Later in the evening, Mr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra had interaction with the media and briefed them about the objective and meetings of his delegation in China.
