Army, FC continued rescue operation in quake-hit areas

Rawalpindi, September 28 (Online): Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps troops continued rescue and relief operations in earthquake affected areas of Mushkai, Awaran and Khuzdar despite attempts to disrupt relief work and supply of goods by terrorists.
According to media reports, four C -130 aircrafts sorties carrying 23.5 ton relief goods Thursday flew from Karachi to earthquake hit areas and dropped in designated drop zones.
Pak-Army’s field medical faculty comprising 21 Doctors and 50 Para Medics are providing medical treatment to injured in Mushkai, Khuzdar and Awaran, small medical teams have been formed and sent to affected areas to provide an urgent relief to the affectees.
Another 40 tons of rations and relief items have been dispatched by road from Malir Cantt, Karachi for earthquake affectees of Awaran and Mushkai via Bela.
These supplies are in addition to stock already dispatched by Government of Balochistan and Pakistan Army from Quetta and Khuzdar.
An advanced logistic base has been established at Bela to reduce turn around distance of helicopters and reception, storage of relief goods being transported from Karachi and rest of the country
