Dengue toll reaches to 93 in Mardan

MARDAN, September 28 (Online): Total 93 dengue cases were reported in Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) here on Saturday.
This was stated by Professor Dr Ameer Khan, Medical Specialist at the MMC and in-charge of the Dengue Ward.
Dr Ameer Khan said that later 81 patients were discharged after treatment and currently 12 patients were admitted to the ward among which 2 are female patient.
However, 11 years old daughter of Saleem Khan Deputy General Secretary of PML-N of Mardan district named Nimra was shifted to Peshawar in critical condition. Meanwhile, dengue mosquitoes were reported in different parts of the city and urban areas, including Charsadda road, Dowasaro road, Baghadada, Karwan road, Muslimabad, Toot Killy and other parts.
The residents of these areas accused the district administration of not giving proper attention to the problems and no arrangements were made so far to control the situation.
They said that local administration has failed to spray insecticides in the affected areas where according to reports dengue mosquitoes were found. They said that people of the district were on the mercy of dengue mosquitoes due to which fear is created among the masses.
They said that there were heaps of garbage in different parts of the city especially in the streets while administration is busying in cleaning those areas and roads where mosquitoes were not reported yet.
Masses of the dengue mosquitoes reported areas demanded the local administration to immediately make proper arrangements of insecticides in affected areas and control the deadly disease.
The residents belonging to different parts of the city where dengue mosquitoes were found threatened, if the local administration failed to make immediate and proper arrangements of insects' killing medicine spry in the areas of the city from where the dengue mosquitoes are reported, they will register cases against Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Mardan
