Nawaz thanks Lodhran’ support in drive to revive vote sanctity

LAHORE, Feb 14 (INP): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that his message of sanctity of vote has reached to the masses and the verdict from the people of Lodhran in this regard is a clear message for all.

“We are thankful to the people of Lodhran and will ensure that we succeed in our efforts to revive the sanctity of vote,” he said this after visiting the residence of Islamic scholar Allama Raghib Naeemi to condole over the death of his grandmother. He said that no one has the right to disrespect the people’s right to vote. “The result in Lodhran is a matter of great concern for the opponents,” he said adding that it is clear message that people had rejected the politics of accusations.

“It is unfortunate that there is no sanctity of vote for past 70 years,” he said adding that the country could not be led towards the path of prosperity unless there is respect for the mandate of the people. He said that no one had thought of such result and those sitting in the courts would also be answerable in the court hereafter.
