Newly office bearers of ICCI pledge to work for welfare of business community

ISLAMABAD, Sep 30 (Online): The newly elected office bearers and executive members of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) were administered oath in the 29th Annual General Meeting of ICCI here on Monday.

Outgoing Chairman Founder Group Tariq Sadiq administered oath to new office bearers while incoming Chairman Founder Group Abdul Rauf administered oath to newly elected executive members of ICCI.

Shaban Khalid was sworn in as the new President, Khalid Mehmood Chaudhry and Mirza Muhammad Ali as Senior Vice President and Vice President respectively for the year 2013-14.

After taking oath, Shaban Khalid, newly elected President vowed to work on a focused agenda for the welfare of business community. Enumerating his priorities, he said close liaison would be developed with CDA and FBR to address the key issues of businessmen. He said youth entrepreneurship would be high on his agenda as youth is the future of the country. He said trade and industry would get equal attention during his term and there will be no distinction in resolving their problems.

He thanked the Founder Group for giving him this important responsibility and assured that he would try his best to perform up to their expectations.

Outgoing President, Zafar Bakhtawari congratulated the new office bearers and hoped that they contribute more effectively in promoting the interests of traders and industrialists. Highlighting his achievements, he said during his tenure, ICCI developed close working relations with diplomatic community to promote Pakistan's trade and economic relations with foreign countries. ICCI also signed MoUs with many universities to promote academia-industry linkages.
Outgoing Chairman Founder Group Tariq Sadiq congratulating the new team, said that the Group has always tried to elect best talent for the office bearers of ICCI and hoped that the new young President would deliver up to the expectations of businessmen. He assured the new them of all cooperation of seniors in achieving their set goals.
