Relief helicopter fired upon in Mashkay

QUETTA Sep 30 (PPI): A relief work helicopter was fired upon by militants in Mashkay area today. Crew and helicopter remained safe. It is unfortunate that militants from the same area are trying to stop Army from providing relief to their own Baloch brothers and sisters.
It was stated by ISPR in a Press release here Monday.
It added that rescue and relief operation continues in the earthquake affected areas of Awaran District by Pakistan Army.
Fifty tonnes of food items, 3000 tents and large quantities of medicines and other relief goods were distributed among the earthquake affectees in Awaran, Malar, Bazdad, Tarteej, Labach, Mangoli areas of Monday. Cooked food is also being provided to homeless people of quake-hit areas.
Eight hundred and fifty tents and six tons of food items were transported to Mashkai area by five helicopter sorties.
A large number of sick and injured persons were treated in Awaran and Labach.
Relief goods collection point has been established in Quetta Cantt, where both military and civilians are donating relief goods for the distressed people of Awaran District.
